Featured Rescue Gerbil: Finley
UPDATE: Finley has been adopted!
Today’s Featured Rescue Gerbil is Finley, a pied lilac boy with a very sweet face.
Finley was rescued from a shelter and is missing part of his tail. We think he’s adorable and perfectly handsome, even without a full tail!
Finley is at Small Angels Rescue in Frederick County, Maryland, and his adoption fee is $10.

He's adorable!
Would you mind posting the location on your rescue gerbil posts?
hi. Lori from Ma. again. so glad to hear things go well for your clan. you asked me to let you know what my little white gerbil with the swollen wrist is doing. took him to the vet today.they said to try antibiotics to see if maybe the swelling/tumor is from an infection so it will be a few days before we see if this could be medicated away. if this doesnt work they assume its a tumor and if thats the case theyll have to send him out to another vet who could do surgery.Ive already decided Im not outsourcing my gerbil to another vet and they said they might even have to amputate his paw. I thot' if we had the good fortune of vets who use laser treatments on small animals as you do I wouldnt be as worried. also what are your experience with teeth trimming? another gerbil of mine always needs dental work every few months. the first vet sedated him and used a drill to file the teeth. the next vet trimmed the teeth of another gerbil without sedating him. I didnt hear a drill but they took him out back where I couldnt see what was going on I assumed they clipped his teeth. when I took the gerbil who was previously sedated back to the vet with the clippers, a new vet working in this office used what looked like a nail clipper on him. I saw them do it this time and Im thinking is the same clipper they use on other animals FEET? a little bit of blood was on the tongue depressor she used. she said it was from a tooth growing into his mouth, not from the clippers but now Im worried about infection. maybe I over react? anyway just thot Id share the diagnosis. I love little Finley! if he wasnt so far away Id adopt him. Im sure he'll find a good home out there.say hi to the gerbils.
what a sweet little boy! That tail makes him all the more special
Oh, he is SO cute! (Sorry I didn't comment any earlier - I had a gerbil die last week! :(
