My Nephew And The Gerbils

My almost-two-year-old nephew was here a couple weekends ago, and he gravitated toward the gerbils tanks immediately.

What was most exciting, though, was that when he saw them, he pointed and said, “Grrr-bull.” He wasn't saying the names of any animals yet when he last visited me in the fall, so I was shocked that he knew the word gerbil! He said “grrr-bull” several more times that day while watching the gerbils. He also enjoyed crumpling up paper plates to give to Hallie.

My brother probably doesn’t like it, but it looks like my nephew has something in common with me. We have a little gerbil fan, I think! :)
