For some reason, I have a horrible time getting good pictures of Grace & Tori. The other night, though, I got a really nice picture of Grace, so I thought I would share. :)

For some reason, I have a horrible time getting good pictures of Grace & Tori. The other night, though, I got a really nice picture of Grace, so I thought I would share. :)

Oh, how cute!
Just curious...how many of the gerbil pics that get e-mailed to you do you post in your Photo of the Week?
We use as many of the photos as we can. The problem is that we get several each week but only run one each week since it's the “Photo of the Week.”
It used to be that all photos got on the Web site automatically, because we were averaging one emailed photo each week.
Now that we get so many photos, the best we can do is just collect all of the photos and then pick one to run each week.
If we don't use a photo one week, we keep it in the “pool” of photos for the next week. So there is hope for a photo that isn't selected for the Photo of the Week. It could show up on the site later!
Also, as far as how we pick them? Sometimes, it's because the photo is outstanding quality, and we just have to share it. Sometimes, it's because the gerbil is in an especially adorable or funny pose. Sometimes the picture isn't great quality, but it shows gerbils who have a great tank setup, are especially well cared for, or are spoiled. :) Sometimes, we choose a photo, because a gerbil has just passed away, and we want to honor that gerbil. Some weeks, we choose a photo just because we know that someone has been waiting a long time to see it on the site!

Maybe I need to be better about just posting some random photos of gerbil cuteness on the blog. :)
