Four Gerbils Abandoned In The UK

I just ran across this article in the icCoventry about the discovery of four gerbils, left in a restroom in the UK. The story grabbed my attention, because my gerbil Samantha had been abandoned before I adopted her. She's the sweetest gerbil, and there was no need to abandon her. Our local humane society even accepts gerbils.

What struck me, though, was that these four abandoned gerbils made news overseas. Sadly, I can't see this making headlines if it happened here in the U.S.
